Mudflap Girl: In 1971, an iconic image of a silhouetted woman started appearing on truck mudflaps. Mudflap Girl has at different times been considered a reflection of male self-image, symbolic of declining family values, and a feminist figure. Can she be an empowered woman, a subcultural icon, or an unrealistic representation of the female form? What is her story? And most mysteriously, who is she? Strawberry Pie: At an all night diner, three women from different eras of sex work have a moment of shared recognition. They have all worked to be seen, but have struggled to be visible.

"Mudflap Girl" is a compelling story about loneliness, cherished moments, the things we do to make ends meet, and how we do our best to stay connected to the people who matter most. It is also a story about how our values and perspectives evolve from decade to decade. The way this story was told kept the stage performance interesting and easy to follow, making this play easy to recommend.

I enjoyed "Strawberry Pie" because it inspired me to reflect on the harsh and unsafe conditions that some working people endure and on the lasting effects those experiences can have. The play was well acted, with each performer bringing honesty and humanity to her character. This is a thought-provoking story about companionship, resilience, hope, and the importance of having even one positive connection, or safe haven, in our lives. Jill Diane Turcotte
