Little Astronaut
You'd have to have a heart of stone not to appreciate this new musical by University of Toronto student Isolbel Arseneau, about female Engineering students struggling with patriarchy & toxic masculinity, featuring a cast of 13 U of T students, plus a 15 piece (student) band.
Loved this show! Great singing, great staging, loved the band and all the characters and acting were awesome. I was engaged the whole time and wanted more. It's been mentioned that it needs more of an ending and kind of stops is valid. I think this show is going to become a longer musical with two Acts but you can say you saw it at the Toronto Fringe first! Sold out show now I see but hopefully there will be future opportunities to see it in other iterations.
This is a beautifully written musical packed with talent and heart. The songs are lushly orchestrated and the plot is compelling and moving. Every single performer delivers a professional quality show, and the sophisticated tech, blocking and choreo elevates the whole experience. Congratulations to the entire company on a top-notch theatrical success!
A bold new musical about the struggles of being a woman studying in STEM. Great performances, a live band, and a heartwarming story make this a must-see!

How did they fit this massive, ambitious musical into the Fringe and knock it out of the park?! 16 in the orchestra, 13 in the cast, telling an intimate, powerful story of a young woman navigating the male-dominated world of university engineering. The talent, mostly engineering students at U of T, is extraordinary. Do not miss this show!
