Middle Child

From the co-creator of Interstellar Elder (****) & Little Orange Man (*****). Three Bouffon clowns crawl from childhood wreckage to conjure sibling rivalries using physical comedy and warped nostalgia. A how-to guide for surviving childhood, put through a blender. Sharp, silly, and strangely heartfelt — you’ll laugh, squirm, and recognize monsters in your own family.

Not My Cup of Tea

I wanted to like this show - interesting premise (a seriocomic piece focused on the middle child syndrome) and a reasonably good start - but it failed to deliver either much humor or much insight. The script ,which allowed for audience participation (perhaps the best part) was more a reveal of highly dysfunctional upbringing with attempts to be silly/funny that fell flat for the most part. The actors weren't terrible but the material often made me cringe and want to escape. I have to say you would be better off going to other shows, unless your tolerance for weak humor and histrionic performance are at a low bar. Amateurish work, unfortunately.

See It Again

The three actors really committed to their sibling rivalry and over the top buffoonery! I'd never really thought about "the extermination of the middle child" but I think they may be on to something (if not ON something). The best of the four Fringe shows we've seen so far (three of them involving clowns). Bravo to the cast and crew for the long trek from the West Coast!

Ten-tickles My Fancy

Hilarious, silly, poignant, insightful clown show about parents, siblings, grief, road trips, myth of sin-eater. Very creative.

What a fun show with so much depth. Phenomenal performances, laughed a lot and got me thinking about family dynamics. Check it out.
