Avril Orloff
Die-hard Jimmy Hogg fan here. We first saw him at last year's Vancouver Fringe, and when we saw he was coming back this year we snapped up tickets as fast as we could. I don't even know how to describe his storytelling style. Storytelling on steroids? Digressively transgressive? Frenzied fun? Whatever. One thing for sure: he's pants-peeingly hilarious, and we'll keep coming back for more as long as Jimmy keeps coming back to the Fringe!
Eat It Anyway is delightful. Tall Mark is a heartfelt, funny, and engaging storyteller, interweaving poignant details about his personal life with goofy (yet often equally poignant) songs to create a sense of ease and intimacy with the audience. He navigates the space between hilarity and thoughtfulness with skill, leaving us bouncing happily between "haha!" and "ahhh!" Definitely recommended. Or as Mark might say: "See It Anyway."
