The energy is through the roof with these 2 guys. I was hooked from the start when they handed out balls, amped up the music and engaged with latecomers. Its obvious these 2 are hilarious but I'm giving the show 3 stars because they give the audience way too much control. Sadly one woman at the front was hell bent on stopping them continuously (5? 6 times?) and insisting they take her own ideas which frankly were not at all interesting. They did what they could as superman, spiderman, dr who, etc. I'd love to see them again without audience members wrecking their fun creativity. I hope they come up with other ways if engaging the audience without fully handing over the reins.
Now THIS is storytelling! What a wonderful, heartfelt story brought to life on stage with nothing more than a few background photos and pure, raw talent. I was completely engaged for the full hour, brought to tears, laughed and danced in my seat. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
This was just so fun. I loved how the troupe mined for gold by interviewing one audience member in depth and then improvised their way through all the best interpretations of their life's moments. This group works exceptionally well together, have great ideas and genuinely find each other funny. I'm looking forward to checking them out sometime soon at the Comedy Bar in TO!
