See It Again

There is so much that can be interpreted from this show, I wish I had seen it more than once.

It is a stunningly choreographed and blocked show. Every movement is intentional, every look is meaningful. It’s the kind of show you can take your eyes off of just in case you miss something.

Victoria Matchett was captivating on stage. Her emotional control was truly so impressive, and I felt myself get caught up in every moment with her. I was also absolutely mesmerized by Gaia Micciancio on stage. Her performance was very intense, and even when she was sitting still, I felt there was something to look for. You could feel the way that the Shadow (Micciancio) haunted the Dreamer (Matchett), and both actresses played that dynamic perfectly.

Nora Jane Montana is a powerhouse as the Moon, and her warmth and comforting presence completely changed the tone of the show. Despite her short time on stage, she truly left her mark with the entire audience; everyone sat forward when she began singing, and you got the sense of being pulled into the dream itself from the bedroom.

Overall, this was a beautiful show, and the open-ended interpretation made it all the more compelling. With the lack of dialogue, I swear you could’ve heard a pin drop in the audience at times, especially with the intensity of Micciancio’s scenes. I cannot recommend attending this enough, even if it’s now over. Fantastic job to all of the performers!
