A Never-Ending Story

Way too much going on in this play, with advertising that fails to mention half of it. Ultimately, this play is about Huntington's Disease and the main character (Haven)'s fear of developing it. Unfortunately, this is surrounded by way too many subplots and attempts at social commentary and there's no satisfying resolution to any of them.

This could have been a very compelling story if the playwright had chosen to focus on ONE plot point (medical testing; cosmetics testing; obsession with self-image; chronic/genetic disease; the problems with results-based funding in research; corruption of government officials). Instead, we got a messy, too-long, meandering mish-mash of half-explored and unsatisfying plotlines.
