Big Stupid Improv Show
The Big Stupid Improv show is the all-star improv jam show! Created by Wes Borg for the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, THE BIG STUPID IMPROV SHOW brings together a random assortment of performers in a big, fun improv jamboree! It's Big! It's Stupid! And it's an Improv Show!
What happens when you take a random assortment of performers for an improv jam? You get the Big Stupid Improv Show!
The Big Stupid Improv Show changes the assortment of performers and the improv games being done, so you’ll get something different every time! The cast of performers did an improv game of “More or Less” where the audience gets to choose if they want more or less of the current scene. From what the worm baits that were forgotten at home doing during their short life cycle to its very end (with the funeral for the worms included), to a blooming romance between a stalker and a mermaid that are happy to be kept apart via restraining order. The cast did an amazing job with creating tons of comedic moments that might have you laughing throughout the entire hour!
If you have an hour of free time in your day and enjoy improv, check out the Big Stupid Improv Show!
There were some funny moments and it was quite entertaining overall. The stage was a delicious toast and the improvisers were the Jammmmm. 😝
Big Stupid Bladder Leakage
Warning: seeing this show made me experience a side effect, a sore bladder, all because I was laughing so hard throughout the entire duration of it!
With an improv box, eight actors who are laughing machines, and a vibrant crowd, an improv game of “Old Scene, New Scene” commenced. It is tremendously mind-blowing how the entire cast managed to start a scene that made the audience feel like they were on laughing gas whenever the audience says “new scene,” and then pick up where they left off effortlessly and swiftly as the audience yells “old scene.” Truly, that stage was filled with quick-witted comedians and a sharp pianist—they managed to create 17 knee-slapping scenes with appropriate background music in 60 minutes! Bravo!
If you want to see a show that seems like if Friends and SNL had a baby, then definitely see this one, although I am going to warn you again, if you want to see a show that would make your bladder hurt from laughing, surely grab your tickets for this one, as it is showing until August 23rd at venue 5: Acacia Hall.
I loved the show. All the improvisers are super hilarious and they know how to play the audience. I had so much fun watching the show. (NGL, I also played the show and got a chance to make a Bollywood movie).
