Celine & Cher: Divine Divas
Join this celebration of life's lessons powered by the wisdom, music and fabulousness of Celine Dion and Cher.
Expect storytelling, singalongs & sheer silliness from Marysia Trembecka, British creator of the Edinburgh/Edmonton sell-out The Singing Psychic Game Show
Being in a karaoke mindset (and maybe a little tipsy) definitely helps with this show. It was not what I expected (I had thought it would be more along the lines of an impersonator) but the joy of singing your heart out with a crowd to these divas hits and the interesting facts about their lives made for a very entertaining hour. I only wish that the sing-along parts were longer!
I hadn’t been to the fringe before, my friend wanted to take me to get me out of the funk that I’ve been in since the wildfire. Brad-Lee, my friend knows how much I like Celine and Cher. So he decided to take me to see this lovely amazing show. Celine and Cher Devine Divas, I highly recommend this show. I laughed I cried, and it just filled my heart with so much with so much love. Thank you so much, Marysia 10,10,10’s across the board
If you’re a Cher/Celine fan. It’s a MUST SEE. Full of humor, storytelling of their stories and how they became the sensation they are. Learned a few things about these 2 Divas and very enlightening.
If you get a chance…GO SEE THIS 😍
Oh and don’t forget to sing-a-long.
SO MUCH FUN ❤️ 👑
This show is a story about Celine and Cher, and the lessons we can learn from their history.
There are a few short sing-a-long sections, where you can sing to some Celine and Cher songs. It was both really popular songs, so odds are you've heard a few of them before, and know the chorus.
I really enjoyed, singing along, and listening to the performer play her interesting instrument.
What do Celine Dion and Cher have in common? Apparently, they have a lot of life advice to share! Celine and Cher: Divine Divas, created by Marysia Trembecka, combines iconic songs, comedy, and storytelling into one fabulous celebration of two legendary performers.
The show turns hits like “My Heart Will Go On” and “If I Could Turn Back Time” into humorous life lessons, mixing singalong moments with plenty of audience interaction. Trembecka brings a fun energy to the stage, and some audience members were clearly having a fantastic time joining in on the fun.
While the show wasn’t quite my personal favourite, it has plenty of charm and laughs. Fans of Celine Dion, Cher, and comedy will likely have a great time singing along and embracing their inner Divine Diva!
When everyone gets to sing along.
Give this show a 10/10 for being able to sing along and have fun. Need to take a few minutes and learn my French 🤭😅
Amazing had fun in the French Quarters of Edmonton! 🇨🇦
15/40 plays to today! Be bold have fun and get your fringe on. Also get your ticket before sold out!
The concept of the play was clever. The story telling for facts given were interesting. There were some good chuckles. We struggled to stay engaged. If you go , go knowing this is somewhat of a comedy and is not a vocal performance of quality, which plays into the comedy affect.
I don’t know many Cher or Celine songs but I couldn’t help but get caught up in the fun of it. A wonderful performer and so charismatic with her audience!
Wonderful show! Lots of fun! Went with my daughter that didn’t know a lot of Celine’s or Cher's songs and she managed to sing along with everyone and had a blast. Marysia’s energy is contagious ❤️
I had so much fun experiencing this show live! I went with a friend who is more well-versed with Celine Dion's and Cher's music than I am. We had a good-sized crowd and I think we collectively grew fond of our hostess, who was humorous and entertaining. I liked that she shared some of her own experiences and that gave context to the show. Also, we really love the hostess' dress! She looked amazing. I felt like she is the kind of person who enjoys encouraging others and lifting them up. I also liked the way she presented some info about each singer. I really didn't know much of that before. It helped me relate to them a bit more than I thought i would.
Marysia has been doing different Fringe shows for years. This piece is a bold, new statement as she channels The energy of two of the biggest divas to ever grace the stage: Cher and Celine. The sing-alongs are a delight, but what was really special about this show was learning more about the two divas and the artists own connection to their story. If you’re looking for a high energy interactive show with great music, look no farther than Divine Divas. I will be seeing this again in Edmonton!
I saw yesterday Celine and Cher: Divine Divas. Marysia was absolutely fantastic! From the moment she took the stage, her vibrant energy completely filled the room. I spent the entire 60 minutes laughing, singing along, and completely captivated by her performance. It was an unforgettable hour of pure joy and entertainment. If you have the chance to see her, do not miss it, she is phenomenal!
I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this show, but I am with the artist all the way. Sadly the venue was larger than needed, but the audience did their best with the singalongs despite being scattered among too many seats. The show took a bit to connect, but definitely gained momentum as it progressed. I thoroughly enjoyed the stories and the songs. If you are at all interested in Cher or Celine Dion and have the opportunity to see this one-woman show, just go! “The more the merrier” is not just a trite saying—it’s the plain and simple truth.
