Communion

A friend comes over for dinner one night. Two platonic lovers launch into an absurd dialogue; raising troubling questions about themselves and reckoning with what might become of their friendship. A live band takes them through a maze of conversation and boisterous movement.

Reflective, genuine, and emotional. Wonderful performances and use of light and music.

See It Again

I thoroughly enjoyed this highly energetic and inventive show. It brought me back to my 20s when my best friend and I had “wine nights” and let the conversation wander anywhere, from relationship angst and family conflict to raunchy improv. The two performers are so much fun to watch and the jazz band is fantastic. The best moments are when the actors and the musicians are riffing off each other. I look forward to seeing where Shipou Collective goes!

Laughed So Hard I Cried

I watched this with my best friend and it hit us hard! We laughed so hard all throughout. The music was incredible, the acting A+ and the directing on point! So glad I was able to catch this on the last day of the fringe!

See It Again

I loved this show and its exploration of friendship, love, romance, platonic relationships and all the variations that can look like. The pacing made the show feel alive and the directorial choices were excellent and stylized ✨

Some of my favourite moments were when the performers and musicians really listened to each other and worked together in tandem, and when the performers let loose in their funny dance/movement numbers. And I laughed, A LOT. Very relatable, great comedic timing, very fun. Go see this!!

A friend called this the worst show she has ever seen. I disagree. I very much enjoyed it.

Two youngish immature women interact, sometimes enthusiastically. Yes, no plot.  Yes, no point.  Yes, a lot-of-mindless silly-filler.  The backing band were the real stars and they were terrific.  Got me into a groove and created a positive enveloping vibe.  Somehow their interaction with the two girls seemed even plausible. So much fun. 7/10*

Yes, this is a very Fringe-y production. In a very good and interesting way.

A fringe show disguised as an experimental theater piece. Snippets of dialogue, sometimes overwhelmed by a three pice jazz band', surrounded by energetic dancing. I especially liked it when the actors danced with the musicians but I was also confused a lot of the time. What happened with her fathe? What happened to her relationships? What was their relationship?

Nevertheless worth a view
