KISMET

KISMET is a darkly comic, meta-theatrical play about a Turkish immigrant couple in the U.S. trying to survive through food delivery work—until life unexpectedly delivers them onto a theater stage. Jumping between their past in Turkey, their journey to the U.S., and the chaos of their present, the play blends memory, performance, and absurd mishaps. Inspired by our experiences and other immigrants’ stories, KISMET shows that sometimes the best way to face fear—and stay sane—is to write your own story, laugh at the mess, and let immigrant voices shine onstage.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Kismet was a funny show and well acted by the two performers. They play versions of themselves as well as different characters. It is very relevant to life today and relatable to many people. I loved the line about want to live without being stuck inside a border.

I absolutely loved Kismet. A beautifully written and heartfelt two-person play with incredible performances and great chemistry on stage. It made us laugh, touched us emotionally, and kept us engaged from beginning to end. Highly recommended!
