TL;DL: The best kind of audience participation, facilitated by a truly talented and gently inviting solo performer. Maybe better suited to high school assemblies than Fringe Festivals, but that's no real gripe. Perhaps the true Capulets and Montagues are the friends we made along the way!
Bard enthusiast Dana Schindel leads the audience through Romeo & Juliet "Part 1"—until the balcony "sweet parting"—in group & individual screen reads, clicking a (sometimes slow) remote. Participation/fun was nigh-universal—but IS optional.
Dana's Romeo & Juliet (with audience participation) was so much fun. You can get an actual role, opt to participate in just the group reading or sit back, relax and simply watch. No pressure for shy people and as engaging as you like for those of us who wanted to be more involved. Dana's so funny, sharp and confident that whatever level of participation you choose you feel well supported and a part of something positive. Of course the script is a classic but with the modern twists and delivery you hear the lines (possibly from your own mouth) in a fresh way. I hope to go back a second time with actor friends. Highly recommend!
Dana put on an incredibly versatile one-person with audience interaction show that had us all totally involved and LOVING it. Highly recommended.
This fun and interactive performance of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" lets the audience experience their favourite roles first hand!
