Snatched

A lonely widow haunts the local cemetery looking to turn the dead into a less-than-honest living, only to fall in love with a stolen cadaver. @thatwitch.snatched

Sorry for the late review!!!

To the artist: Wow!!! Your show was amazing and I just loved your character. Really loved being endowed as ghosts around you that you were talking to. Bravo on both the writing and performance.

To everyone else:

This one woman show was powerful and funny. She really created an atmosphere that took you back to the time of grave robbers and gas lanterns and plays a great character so full of life, juxtaposed by the gravestones and the corpse she has fallen for, lol. Great fun and excellent.

See It Again

One of my favorite shows of this year's Fringe (I saw 19). The old timey Scottish was delightful - the word play and dialogue were fantastic. Loved the setting too, dusk in a cemetary! As someone who grew up around Scots the accent was bang on. I would go see anything by this performer.

The location of the show created the perfect atmosphere!

I was impressed by the actress — she had so many lines to deliver, and she was incredibly convincing. I was really able to relate to her character.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Shel Wyminga absolutely steals the lantern light in the role of Agnes. Snatched is the perfect way to kick off this years’ spooky season. It is morbidly clever, bizarrely poignant, and surprisingly charming for a show set in a graveyard and co-starring a corpse. Definitely recommend you catch the last show if you can!

A smart and funny performance. I found the start a little slow but once the plot was established there were plenty of laughs. It’s a great story, cleverly written and very well performed. The Scottish accent, and more impressively the dialogue, is amazing.

Agnes’ charm, wit, and humor keep this show at a great pace.

Hilarious and clever and a great way to break into Spooky Season.

Definitely a must see! Make sure to drag your friends (possibly in a better quality wheelbarrow) and don’t lend Agnes your brooms.

A classic love story - classic in what a woman wants. Someone who listens, is attentive, non-defensive and happy to spend time together. Alas, Callum is not of this earth or, for that matter, among the living.

Set in Edinburgh, Snatched tells of the bond between a young woman and her desire to connect. Agnes finds that connection in a rather unlikely place with a gentlemanly corpse who, it turns out, has many of the qualities she has been looking for.

Dark, funny and a little creepy, but underneath it all a story about loneliness, resilience, love and the desire to connect. Set amongst the gentle fading light of Vancouver - bring blanket and chair :)

Snatched was a fun little ditty of a performance on the side of a hill. The location was excellent and the actress did a great job. It wasn't as memorable as other shows this year, but it had some really funny moments nonetheless.

You can never say That Witch doesn't commit. From the accent, script, outfit, props, and the perfect setting of a grassy knoll at dusk, you are transported to that graveyard. The show shines the most when it reveals piece by piece the story of why this widow has a corpse in her wheelbarrow, instead of the initial meandering small talk about the dead husband (god bless him).

The only thing that got snatched in this show was my heart. Great spooky vibes on a lovely grassy venue, Shel plays an amazing and heartwarming character. Definitely can find a cure to loneliness here.

Creepy and Delightful.

Beautiful setting and wonderful creepy tone as the show begins in a graveyard setting just after sunset. Wickedly dark humour and genuine heart

Shel the chaos fairy tells a really fascinating and hilarious story about a women who falls in love with a very unlikely… cadaver.

But at its core the heart of this show is so wonderful and the location and set design creates a really spooky and immersive experience. Highly recommend!
