Swing Showcase 2025
With flying flips, tapping feet, and fast dancing, Swing Showcase will inspire, thrill, and entertain. Take a journey through the dances of the swing-era, including Lindy Hop, Tap, Jazz, Blues, Balboa, and more! It’s a new show every year, produced by Sugar Swing Ballroom’s team, Mad Cat Swing.
From Mad Cat Swing and Sugar Swing, comes their 5th Swing Showcase full of so much joy and energy you can’t help but clap along. If you love swing dancing or want to learn more about it this is the show for you! It’s both an impressive display of Swing and an educational one. Don’t worry it’s not like a boring school lesson, Miriam Ayles does a wonderful job of educating you while making you laugh. There are quite a few quick changes throughout the show which are very impressive time wise and the costumes themselves are stunning!
I used Loop quiet earplugs and would recommend that even if you aren't sensitive to noise that you wear some kind of ear protection as the show got very loud, even reaching 105 db for a minute. I will say that the Sugar Swing Ballroom is not a venue I particularly like: the chairs are uncomfortable, the way their light grid is set up often leads to lights being in your eyes, and the ground vibrates with music or any movement an actor (or dancer) makes. The talent I got to see during the Swing Showcase made up for my dislike of the venue though as it was so much fun.
This is a must-see if you enjoy swing dance and/or music! The performances are skillful, polished, and joyful, with a great mix of different dance styles and tempos. Get your tickets before they sell out!
Excellent show start to finish! Perfect for all ages and entertaining whether you're new to dance or not. The MC does a great job of engaging the audience and the dancers are excellent!
Mesmerizing! These dancers are exceptional. The MC engages the audience and the routines are amazing! I have tickets to all the rest of their perfomances now. Worth seeing multiple times. I was smiling from start to finish. Highly recommend it.
As someone not seasoned in the dance world, I wasn't sure what I would experience as I walked into the Swing Showcase 2025, but I walked out with my foot tapping and a smile on my face. These dancers were so full of infectious energy, I just couldn't look away. They did a great job at showing off the whimsy of swing dance, ranging from slow jazz tunes to upbeat numbers to quick tap, it was really special. They had many era-invoking costumes, quick moves, perfect synchronisation, and so much excitement that I couldn't help clapping along.

If you love good music, good vibes, flips, and jumps, this is for you! I had a great time. Loved the costumes and the diversity of the performances - from slow jazzy acts to upbeat numbers, it has something for everyone.
