The Grown-ups
So compelling and funny and special to watch. The venue is used so well and the cast handles the script deftly. I laughed out loud many times. Also lots of really thoughtful moments. I think it’s a testament to the strength of this show that I was enthralled by the interactions between all of these actors in this world they built with little more than some chairs and their lines. Super cool piece of theatre and I’m so grateful I got to see it. Everyone shone!!! Super effective and engaging theatre.
Incredible real story, with a good amount of comedy. Dynamic and relatable characters, and a simple but perfect set!
I would highly recommend this show to anyone, but especially to those who have lived and breathed the intensity of working at a summer camp. The show does an excellent job paying homage to camp life while critiquing the darker sides of its culture with thoughtfulness and sensitivity.
This is largely delivered through the incredible performances of the five leads, who portray each character with heart, humour, and dynamism.
You'll belly laugh, you'll probably shed a tear or two, and you'll walk away just the right amount of haunted.
i loved this play so much. it was funny and well-written and full of heart and if i could, i no doubt would see it again and again and again. all of the actors came together with such wonderful chemistry and did the script great justice! i really loved every moment :) it was also so fun to get to watch a theatre performance outside!
I'll be talking about this one all year. Excellent execution on all fronts: the performances, costumes, lighting, details all the way down to the audience's seating came together to create a totally unforgettable, immersive experience. I love how this story is told by this cast. I feel like the characters are people I know, and then they show me just how little I know them. I wish I could see this again, but it's sold out (for good reason!) so I'm happy to brag here: this was a wonderfully balanced funny, moving experience. I'm so glad I got to see it!
