OMG as a queer person who brought a straight friend to the show, we both laughed and fell in love with Matt’s performance. His ability to switch between comedy and seriousness was incredible. I could also relate to the love story in ways and will see it again!

I was really excited to see this show after meeting Matti at a Fringe mixer. I was expecting some good old-fashioned, toilet humor, and Matti delivered, But the humor was just a device to get us thinking about the complexity of Many relationships, especially when they were romantic at one point in time. Much of the Monologue was accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack that punctuated the script. The choice to develop other characters only through Matti‘s eyes was clever and well executed!

Matti was absolutely incredible. The performance felt so natural, funny, and authentic that it was impossible not to be completely drawn in.

This is exactly why I love Fringe. You walk into a show not knowing what to expect and end up leaving feeling something. The Shit is clever, heartfelt, and beautifully performed.It’s one of my favourite Fringe shows I’ve seen, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a show that’s equal parts funny and moving. And it helped remind me how much I love “The Only Exception” by Paramore, I haven’t heard that in years.

When you encounter a storyteller as talented as Matti, the vulnerability he presents in this show feels like a gift.

Taking us on a journey though a tumultuous relationship, he makes us laugh and cry and feel his pain (both on the toilet and off).

$#!T is a humorous and poignant look back at the beginning of a relationship that survives the turbulence of life. Masterfully told interweaving past, longer past, and present(ish) this story is relatable to anyone who has made the wrong choices and carried that through the years.
