What a spectacular show. The cast perfectly encapsulated what it was like being 13 in 2012. The music, the costume design, the references, the humour, all really sold it! Lots of laughs but it also showed a raw emotional side as well, showing the internal struggles of the characters. You really felt for all of them.
Thought provoking, raw and relatable. Very well written and the performances were pro. I wished I had time to have seen it again.
My first time ever watching a play, and let me say it was awesome, I cried, I laugh, it was just the best experience ever. Great actors and would definitely recommend! Congratulations 🎉
Went in totally blind, and was pleasantly surprised in its entirety. It started out with so much energy and did not fail to sustain it throughout. There was such an amazing inner-world monologue for each character that left me attached to each of them. The script totally nailed all the references from the era. There were moments I felt my 13-year-old spirit emerging, so much so that I saw flashes of my own childhood.
This show totally carries the spirit of what Fringe is all about. I can see this cast on a stage in Edinburgh one day. They are the real deal.
Amazing staging and incredible acting. Beautifully directed and designed. But I have to say I am from a small town and I felt just a tiny bit stereotyped by the abundance of small town cliche's in the writing. Other than that, a fabulous piece.
A beautifully written and performed play. Incredibly moving, emotional, and funny all at the same time. Shanti has written a very original and exciting play and the direction fit perfectly with what was on the page. I brought a couple friends of mine who had never been to a play before and they were just as moved as I was. This play has introduced at least 2 new people to the magic of theatre! Will be buying tickets to watch again!
Portraying these intimate and heavy plot points through the eyes of adolescence was incredibly truthful and a powerful experience. The talented cast and writing really hit home. Bravo.
I thought this was a very well-written, well-performed, and highly effective theatre piece. At times it reminded me of 'Concord Floral' in terms of the setting and adolescent themes of the play. It was (almost?) a full house at the performance I attended, and the audience seemed enraptured throughout. As someone else mentioned in their review, if possible try to grab a seat in the rows closer to the stage, as it will be easier to see all the performances from a closer viewpoint than further back.
If you are looking for a Fringe show that is a scripted theatre play, then this one is definitely worth checking out!

Loved the show! Reminded me of other coming of age shows I love like Stand by Me. Very authentic in sense of place and dialogue. Wonderful performances.
Transported to a small town of adolescent emotional highs and lows. Great character contrast. The interactions felt genuine of that age group. Beautiful performances by the cast, notably during the monologues, and good use of sound and music. Best experienced in the front rows because of some staging choices.
This was my first time ever experiencing a live play and I absolutely loved it! There was lots of depth to the story, funny moments, emotional moments, and the actors were phenomenal! Great performance all around, highly recommend seeing this play.

My friends and I traveled from Houston, and on our last day we decided to see this play because we didn’t have anything else do and we all ended enjoying it.
We had such a great time watching this play. It was funny, entertaining, and genuinely kept us engaged from beginning to end. The cast did an amazing job, and you could really feel the energy and passion they brought to the stage. It ended up being such a fun way to finish our trip, and we’re really happy we decided to check it out.
Shanti has created a very intricate and well-developed world here. The characters are written with so much specificity and performed uniquely, allowing the sporadic nature of the story to stay clear while still feeling brooding and tense throughout.
The play hilariously uses music to highlight the era and embody the energy and mood of the characters. This cast also has great chemistry, playing off of each other very nicely! Each actor brought a well-lived-in truthful essence to these young, naive characters. Bravo!!
The whole cast was amazing! The show had me laughing one moment and crying the next with truly grounded and dynamic transitions! I highly recommend this show!
