Where Foxes Lie

"Rumours spread like a disease. They infect people. They take over." Koen fills his days with hockey, partying, and picking on the local preacher's son, Albert. But Albert is not who he seems to be. In the wake of a vicious rumour, the lines between sanity and madness, freedom and control, truth and myth all begin to blur.

See It Again

A must see for any fringegoer looking for an urban horror, Where Foxes Lie makes excellent use of storytelling, lighting, and sound to create this closed off world, ominous and tense. Jezec Sander’s writing and portrayal as our narrator is compelling and urgent, and the use of lighting and soundscapes is so unique and captivating that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. This play is a modern urban legend in the making, and is perfect for those who enjoy taking a scary campfire story apart piece by piece.

One actor ... but playing two characters. Bravo!!!

Super serious and a bit scary-creepy bits which are then followed by a laugh. The pacing keeps you on the edge of your seat ... the laughs provide release from the emotional tension.

Bang on 'small town' male personification. But at the same time, a story of character development.

I didn't realize how much I would enjoy a comedy/drama!

So after yesterday I was really hoping to see good shows today and this one was actually a banger!! I’m biased towards horror but wow. The lighting, the props, the performance. The metaphor. Never seen a lamp get used to such creative ends. They really put their techs to WORK!

It’s nice to see a horror show at the Fringe that is actually spooky and serious. Serious shows don’t tend to sell many tickets, but they’ll certainly stay with you for a long time. So glad I ended up rearranging my schedule to see this show, even though it meant I had only a 20min gap to drive from the main site to the Roxy. Worth it.

“Years ago, in a small town….” The man we meet in this unnerving, impressively intricate horror show by and starring Jezec Sanders is standing amidst heaps of crumpled pages. A volume dismembered? Draft after draft discarded?...." Check out the full 12thnight REVIEW!
