This group has been scheduled for Hold over! Aug 29th! Such a good choice! A realy crowd pleaser! I love a good story with talented actors, authentic, colourful characters, and a story that follows the rules established at the start. Happlily that happens in this performance format. Some audience folks are really into playing Dungeons and Dragons themselves, I am not one of those people, but I really enjoy watching the developing story on stage by skilled improv actors! The night I attended improvisors Joel Dinicola and Michael Vetsch played very entertaining adversaries! DND improvisors like these make the action very much like watching a live video game! Elements I liked: the live, improvised music, the dungeon master taking notes and then reminding the audience of what recently happened, as well as engaging the audience by asking someone to approach the stage to roll the decision dice. And the youngsters in the audience didn't need to be asked twice! They were seated up front and fully engaged! The entire audience seemed to really get into the story, which is different each time they perform (because improv, and of course, the decision dice!) I found this to be a fun show, and it was clear that the cast were genuinely enjoying themselves. However, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. First, I didn’t love that it was structured as a long-form campaign, as it sometimes felt like I was missing details from previous episodes. I imagine relatively few people attend every yegDND show during Fringe, so this made the narrative a bit perplexing at times.

That said, I thought the show was very clever in terms of its approach, though I found it somewhat light on humour. I would have enjoyed more jokes and silliness throughout. I also would have liked to see more audience input. The dice-rolling was a fun gimmick, but giving the audience more influence over the direction of the story could have added another layer to the improv and made the narrative feel less linear.

With a combination of comedy, improvisation, music, and audience interaction, the show creates an atmosphere where anything can happen. The performers bring plenty of personality to their characters, with creative costumes helping establish the world and distinguish each character. A live pianist adds another layer to the performance, responding to the action and helping build tension, excitement, or humour depending on what is happening on stage. The music never feels separate from the performance; instead, it becomes part of the storytelling. One of the most entertaining aspects is the show's ability to embrace the unexpected. A single decision or roll of the dice can completely change the direction of the story, creating hilarious situations and surprising turns that even the performers have to react to in the moment. The quick one-liners and playful interactions keep the energy high, while the audience gets to have a say in where the adventure goes. The ensemble also plays an important role in bringing the world to life. Through their movement and reactions, they help create the surroundings, atmosphere, and action around the main performers. This makes the stage feel much larger and gives the impression that the audience isn't simply watching a game unfold, but they're stepping into the world alongside the characters. Overall, YegDND is lively, funny, and wonderfully unpredictable. It captures the fun of playing a game with friends while turning that experience into something the whole audience can share. If you enjoy comedy, adventure, or simply want to see a show where no two performances are exactly alike, YegDND is well worth rolling the dice on.

Bravo!! 5 Stars!!!! Entertaining, engaging, interactive, fun! The crew make improv seem so effortless, when infact it is a difficult craft to master! Each character drew you into the DND world of mystery and adventure! And...one doesn't even have to be familiar with DND to enjoy it! Don't hesitate to book your ticket, you will not be disappointed!

Fantastical long form improv! A fringe long DND campaign acted out on stage, in a very enjoyable episodic format so you don't have to worry if you can only make one or two performances! There is plenty to enjoy and you need 0 understanding of Dungeons and Dragons to enjoy the story or the jokes. It's just a little extra seasoning of you play tabletop RPGs.

Audience suggestions and the audience rolled 20 sided dice take the story into fun twist and turns, you truly never know what to expect. The rotation cast are all wonderful story tellers.

This is the show that got me into the fringe! One note, the theater can get very warm, nothing the performers have control over, just be ready for it.

The cast of “YegDND” includes a Dungeon Master; Matt Ness from “Sorry not sorry Improv” who centres the Dungeons and Dragons world the characters live in, while setting them on course of their future decisions, and making them pay the toll for their actions by the roll of a dice, setting their fate in stone. Matt Ness proves himself as an intuitive director who knows how to keep the element of surprise throughout the course of the campaign, not losing the on-edge audience for a moment. The actors, including three Non-Player characters who bring Matt’s given circumstances to life are Laena Anderson, Liam Creswick, Joel Dinicola, Corina Dransutavicius, Lea DuCoeur, Adam Keefe, Liam McKinnon, Jesse Tollestrup, Ross Zimmerman and other various members from “Sorry Not Sorry Improv”. This group of actors are beyond hilarious and committed to the work they do on stage. With their quick wits and endless dedication, they can make any audience swell with laughter while continuing an emotional and heroic show. “YegDND” is not only a thrilling ride that's fun for the whole family, but every show is a continuation of the previous night, meaning you can follow along with this group of adventurers for the entire run of their show!
