Mr. Nowhere's Disappearing Reappearing Starlight Carnival
This is legit one of my favourite Fringe shows I've ever seen. Whimsical chaos is always what I feel like the Fringe is about, and this show had it in droves. Too many cast members? Check. Tons of moving parts? Check. Audience participation that is so intense and frequent that it practically disrupts the show? Check. Pre- and Post-show activities? Check. Live music? Check. Bat Clown? Check.
I went twice to the Carnival, and would have gone a third time if I could have made it fit with my Fringe schedule. Both the people I took had a blast and said it was downright magical.
What a whimsical treat!! Give in to the old-school silly, chaos, and merriment. I’m so glad I was open to this immersive theatre experience and let myself be swept up in the magic—I got pulled into some truly delightful side quests, and the performers were wonderfully engaging in their one-on-ones. It was joyfully full of surprises, and I loved the emotional payoff at the end. A much-needed outdoor imaginative adventure :)
The bat was the best part.
I was confused about the meaning behind it. There wasn’t a lot going on substance wise and the humour was somewhat corny.
I like that it was outdoors and I think it had potential. The music was good.
Awesome.e to stumble into this wild calamity. So much going on and non stop joy. Really didnt know what was going to happen next. Great to see a zany, fun, unpredictable show that is well thought out too. So glad the weather is holding out for you folks.
This was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I arrived I felt like I was transported into another time and place. On the main stage there was a wonderfully silly and sweet 1930's travelling show with acts like aerial, weightlifting, sword swallowing, and even a bat clown. But what makes this show even more special is there are several other secret shows happening simultaneously with different members of the audience. Myself and one other audience member were treated to a lovely little storyline that was just for us. I won't spoil it because I want people to enjoy this as much as I did! Perfect for all ages! I will definitely go and see again!
This large cast (15 performers & musicians?) gave us a wonderful, enchanted time! The good time begins before the show as you get to mingle with the characters and play some games, and continues after the show as everybody lingers at the charming setting on the banks of False Creek. Best value-per-minute of any Fringe show! A delight of clowning, pole dancing, live music and lots of well-planned audience engagement. For ALL ages!
