Andrew Silverwood: Love Thy Neighbour

Andrew is a stand-up comic and is so fast with his lines. As Cleese says need to be near the bone and Andrew is. Enjoyed his insights on living in Australia and trip to Palestine! Never checked my watch at all. Keeps the audience involved. Do get there early as he comes out and chats with the people in the line up. Great fun.

Fabulous show! He's clearly a professional comic and it shows in how natural his audience work feels. Great balance between story telling and jokes, the latter of which aren't so polarizing that sensitive folks would be emotionally wounded but edgy enough to still be clever and very funny. All around, seeing this show was an excellent use of my time :)

This was a perfectly executed high tension show for me, but we were kindly encouraged to relax our sphincters to enjoy it to it's fullest. This artist effortlessly (it seemed) kept me listening to a show that blended hilarity and personal experience to make us comfortable and familiar with him to hear some meaningful things. I laughed, I stared, and I reconsidered my beliefs. I strongly encourage others to see this show if they have the opportunity. Big thanks to this artist for bringing his story to audiences.

A high-energy comedy show with a splash of storytelling and plenty of jokes drawn from Andrew’s own life. The experience actually starts before you even get into the theatre, with Andrew interacting and joking with people in line. Once inside, there’s another 15–20 minutes of stand-up before the main show begins, so you definitely get your money’s worth of comedy. Andrew has a ton of energy and seems almost incapable of sitting still, which keeps the show moving and engaging. The humour covers a variety of topics and personal stories without one major overarching theme, making it feel like a fairly typical stand-up comedy show with some storytelling woven throughout. One thing I would have loved to see was a stronger commitment to the costume setup. If you’re going to walk out in costume, lean into it! Give us the serious “come to Jesus” moment we’re expecting before taking us in a completely different direction. Overall, a lively and entertaining comedy show with lots of jokes, personality, and energy.

If British comedy isn't your cup of tea, I can understand why you may not enjoy this stand-up comedy set. However, that's not the case for me. I've always had a sense of humour that others find weird. British humour rarely fails to make me laugh.

Andrew Silverwood is a hilarious comedian. He uses the right amount of crowd work while still staying on track with his material. During my experience of seeing this set, Silverwood walked outside and was already entertaining the line of people waiting to enter the venue.

Normally, when I see a show that I'm reviewing, I take notes. At a certain point, I decided to simply enjoy the show. I liked it so much that I didn't want to be a reviewer in that moment. I just wanted to laugh. So that's what I did.

Again, if British comedy isn't your thing, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this show; nonetheless, if it is your cup of tea, you shouldn't miss it.

There are few stand-up comedians who are really good at it and I’m not sure the Fringe is the best venue for it.

I kinda hated the first half of his routine, not because he offended me, but more because he wasn’t particularly funny. And I hate when comics blame the audience for them not getting the laughs they feel they deserve.

And why, oh why, do they consistently rely of gay jokes to get laughs. Come on! It’s 2026! Let’s come up with something new.

That being said, the show became stronger as it went along and he became more political. Took on the crisis in Gaza head on while still finding the humour in it, directed appropriately at those standing by.

So at the end of the show, I was fine with it. Not overly excited but it was a decent way to spend an hour on a Saturday night with friends.

Story/stand up comic with excellent stage presence. Fast paced and lots of fun.

i think he was very funny, delivery was good, his heckling of audence was gentle. he needed ot have more matierial about his costume and about the title. the audience was not great at helping the sotry... cast the first stone... was like pulling teeth- that may have effected his routine.

Stand up s not really my thing and Andrew Silverwood didn't change that but kudos for having the balls to call out the situation in Gaza.

Silverwood doffs the cassock & miter in the 1st 5 min of his stand-up routine re: trying to not get wound up by life's irritations. He's an engaging comic, but I'd hoped for more (sac)religious material, based on his promos.
