"Songs for Moby Dick" is a sort of staged song cycle drawing on the text of the Melville novel. The performance and staging are very good but the music fell short of what I expect in a contemporary song cycle. That's the perspective of an opera/music reviewer and may not be everyone's experience.

I loved Maria Torgerson's compelling story telling about her Evangelical upbringing and her escape from it. The music though is just not my thing.

You Choose is an improvised murder mystery a la Agatha Christie. The cast really throw themselves into it and are making fun of each other and their characters as much as anything. The packed house laughed like crazy and I can see why.
