Cold Maple Cloth: The Farewell Tour of a Delusional Diva

Who says you have to be a success to go out with a bang? Sydney is a 27 year old failing actress, and she is ready to quit for good! (Not without a little attention of course.) But could a surprise visitor from her past help her to see things differently?

Musical geeks will adore Sydney Page's "solo" show (mild spoiler: a bubbly Sierra Philbert plays Page's teenage self) about a "mid" triple threat mulling hanging up her character shoes; it coasts on their outsized stage personalities.

Cold Maple Cloth is a must see. They showed that you don't need a large team to pull off something amazing. Congratulations to everyone! and WOW! That stage director is so incredible and the music she played was so on-point!

I went to see it because the reviews were so good.

It was a two-person play with simple equipment, no microphones, but it was full of clever touches and I thoroughly enjoyed the 60 minutes.

The content really resonated with me. I'm also a performer, and I struggle with not being able to do a full-time job, and even when I want to quit, opportunities come my way, and I can't suppress my inner self.

I wholeheartedly wanted to root for her adorable character.

See It Again

Such a fun show! It is funny, entertaining, vulnerable, and an overall feel good story! Sydney wrote a powerful story that is both very personal and relatable for anyone aspiring to "make it". Both actors were fantastic and funny, and the direction and choreography added a lot of fun to the production, allowing the emotional parts to really land. You'll leave with a smile on your face, an urge to dance, and your heart warmed. Silly AND sentimental - I will never forget it!

Laughed So Hard I Cried

We made the trip from Ottawa to experience our first Fringe Festival. This comedy/drama is a heartfelt look at the real struggles of making it big in the musical theatre world. Sydney and Sierra deliver stunning vocals alongside quirky, laugh-out-loud choreography. If you're looking for a fun musical, this is the one to see. We loved it!

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Yesterday I saw this very funny, very original performance Perhaps a semi-autobiographical story/musical about a young woman with a life long passion for musical theatre who never seems to catch a break. This is the type of show that the Fringe is famous for. The title is a parody on "Hot Honey Rag" a famous instrumental dance number from the musical Chicago . It was composed by John Kander, with the original iconic choreography famously created by Bob Fosse for the 1975 Broadway production GO OUT AND PLAY

The best part was Sydney's vulnerable sharing at about the 30 minute mark.

Sydney Page and Sierra Philbert tell their struggles to become musical stage performers in a comical and heartfelt performance. The performance ranges from a SCTV comedy skit to an emotional and heartfelt scene. I trust this won’t be the last musical that Sydney Page writes.
