Learning to Count Past 100

I absolutely loved everything about this production! The writing, the staging and the skill and excellence of the performing artists was incredible. I loved the pacing of it all too. This was such a gem. I wish I could see it again. I felt mesmerized ♥️

This piece felt like a love letter to those who are neurodivergent, it felt very neurodivergent-coded, but I think also is universal. It also felt very connected to inner child healing. I had a cathartic cry at the end for my inner child, and I love art that can bring me there, so this definitely is a piece that resonates within my soul and I will always remember. The non-linear storytelling, and parallel story about aliens, were so brilliantly weaved together, the performers were so committed and radiating, all together was such a brilliant show that I strongly recommend!

Learning to Count Past 100 is a show that you feel in your heart and bones. The story brings the audience into the life and thoughts of Rowan, a character that I saw myself in. Throughout their life, the audience witnesses their thoughts when it came to family connections, love, and themselves. Learning to Count Past 100 is a short, sweet, and relatable show about growing up.

Another excellent piece of theater at this festival! The interplay between the two performers was exquisite. One of them is Introduced as “You” , annd embodies several characters as is appropriate for that pronoun. It’s another piece that brings behavioral health issues to the forefront without being preachy, but shows us the difficulties of these struggles. Both actors did an exquisite job And created great energy and tension with each other.
