The Lost Sock Rescue Society is exactly what I need from a Fringe show. From the moment you step into the perfectly, appropriate venue, Edmonton theatre all-stars Christine Lesiak and Louise Casemore welcome you. Christine, as Sandra, radiates a joyful bounce that lights up the space, while Louise, as Sabryna, offers the perfect contrast, grounding the energy and adding a surly undertone. Together, they lead you on a wonderfully playful, heartfelt journey through their volunteer recruitment seminar. The show is peppered with inventive surprises, including a delightful side character, who adds another layer of charm and comedy. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted, right down to how the socks have characters themselves. One scene involving a sock in need had me laughing so hard I cried. It’s lighthearted yet touching, accessible and imaginative. I walked out of venue #28 on a buzzing high, skipping off to my next show. If you’re wondering what to see at the Fringe, make sure The Lost Sock Rescue Society is on your list—because it is “darn” good.
