Mind Blown

This show is incredible and Dwayne is a captivating, masterful creator and performer. There is not a second in this show that isn't insightful, impactful, and heartfelt. The material speaks to parenthood, relationships, racism, being an artist, and aging in ways that are beautifully poetic and moving. Dwayne speaks from, and about, his experience as a Black man with vulnerable power. And, I can't imagine anyone of any race or gender walking away and not feeling like they could relate to the many themes or intersections he was speaking to. It does what the best theatre does - it invites an entire audience into the experiences of an individual while simultaneously inspiring our interconnectedness. The audience was rocked, erupting in applause more than a few times. I will see this show again if I ever get the chance.

See It Again

This show does an incredible job of weaving together drag, opera, acting, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling. It's one of those shows were you don't have to know anything about any of those elements because it's accessible and enjoyable for everyone. It was a packed house and it seemed like everyone walked away in love with the show.
