I have been so lucky to see this show from it's 1st dress rehearsal in Orlando and multiple times on the circuit in Calgary, Edmonton and now Vancouver. The show only gets better. Tymisha is a STAR as are all the great legends she pays the most respectful homage towards. Directing, tech and costumes all come together with this powerhouse QUEEN to make for a magical and highly entertaining and heartfelt time at the theatre!
As a fellow southerner, I enjoyed the specificity of all the southernisms written intentionally into this story. Jim has a very natural presence and a great voice when singing or playing his multiple characters.
There is so much to love about this show regardless if you know a thing about Hockey.... the chemistry between Jon Paterson & Ryan Gladstone is so strong and they banter and riff effortlessly and hilariously from one character to the next.
It is worth it to be able to act like you are at a sports game instead of a theatre. If you are a hockey lover or sports geek... THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU. If you like great acting & stellar chemistry between artists that have been friends for ages... THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU.
Love Martin's writing and storytelling but this one is my favorite. I like his production value additions as well as the edge of my seat hanging onto every word to learn more and more of the plot. Great show. High Recommend. Wanna see it again.
I have seen the trajectory of Chase's work and am always impressed. This show holds a very special place in my heart because of its vulnerability and his story parallel between his Dad and his Teacher/Mentor. I have seen thousands of shows... yes thousands and Chase is always TOPS!
Superb voice and character work with gorgeous gothic aesthetic and full of all sorts of crow goodness in the world of puns and fun. Adam is the top of his craft. SEE THIS SHOW with your friends, your family, your kiddos, your co-workers.
Tracy is a solid, charasmatic and skilled storyteller with a great understanding of how to captivate her audience thru her sweet love story. As someone that is also Bi/Pan in a straight presenting relationship for 27 years, I empathized greatly.
Matti is so charming and engaging as he leads us thru what is clearly a topic he is both knowledgeable and passionate about. Matti has carefully curated the artistic direction of his chosen songs and artists. Audiences laugh and enjoy guessing Eurovision Trivia as well as singing along with Matti.
Everyone is sure to learn something & have a good time!
