I had the chance to see this year’s Fear Fables and was really excited to return after seeing last year’s production. The new sci-fi theme was such a fun direction, and it is clear the cast and crew put a lot of passion and creativity into this show.

The set design was a standout from the very beginning. It was bold, inventive, and instantly set the tone. I also loved the opening completely drew me into the world and kicked things off with such strong energy. That first number set me up with high expectations, and it was a thrill to watch the show unfold.

I left appreciating the heart, creativity, and ambition of this show. It is not an easy task to merge horror, sci-fi, and drag, but this team has the vision to make it happen. I hope that they return next year and to watch how they up their game even more.

See It Again

I could not stay away from Rat Academy 2 – Gnaw and Order — I went twice, and both times were an absolute thrill. Fingers and Shrimp deliver a show that is not only hilarious but also deeply powerful, speaking to the moment we are living in with sharpness and heart. It is no surprise they are getting the flowers they deserve.

Their craft is intentional and precise, from every physical movement to the way they connect with each other on stage. The audience interaction is seamless and electric, making the whole room part of the story. Each performance felt alive, different, and fueled by the energy they created with us.

This show is fearless, funny, and unforgettable. If you get the chance again do not miss these rats

Mind Blown

A Cabaret of Legends was breathtaking. Tymisha Harris pulled us right into the heart of this act of resistance and protest, using the voices and stories of icons like Billie, Tina, Whitney, and Beyoncé to show how their artistry shaped history and continues to inspire today.

The simplicity of the set and visuals gave her performance even more power. Nothing distracted from the strength of her storytelling and her voice, and every moment felt intentional and resonant.

What truly made this show unforgettable was Tymisha’s emotional connection and relationship with the audience. She filled the room with a kind of energy that cannot be replicated anywhere else, an energy that came directly from her presence and approach.

This was not just a performance, it was a call to remember and to honor, and Tymisha delivered it with brilliance, heart, and fire.

The Spotlight’s Shadow was absolutely captivating. The singing was beautiful, and the performers’ voices blended together so perfectly it felt like pure magic. Their earnest portrayal of queer love in the 1920s carried so much weight, and the parallels to today made it feel both timeless and urgent.

I could have watched these characters for hours. Their story felt so rich and alive that I would be thrilled to see a full length version of their lives, with even more time to explore their world and watch their love unfold.

This show is heartfelt, gorgeous, and so important.

See It Again

The Pansy Cabaret is absolutely unforgettable. I saw it twice because once just did not feel like enough, and each time I was blown away by how important and moving this show is. Lilith Fair brings queer vaudeville history back to life with brilliance, balancing comedy, sorrow, hope, and joy in a way that feels effortless and deeply human.

The intimate space made the connection between Lilith and the audience even more powerful. You could feel the history, humour, and heart resonate through the room. It is both a celebration and a remembrance, and it reminded me how vital it is to keep these queer stories alive while creating new ones.

This show is more than a performance, it is a gift.

4-Way Stretch is an absolute gem of a show. Stretcher delivers content that is both deeply moving and wonderfully approachable, weaving together drag king history with the raw honesty of lived experience. This performance does more than entertain, it educates, uplifts, and honors the legacy of drag kings while carving out new space for stories still being written.

What struck me most was the balance: the show manages to feel intimate and personal while also standing as a powerful testament to our broader queer history. It is an important reminder that telling these stories keeps our histories alive, and Stretcher does so with heart, humour, and authenticity.

A beautiful homage and a vital contribution, 4-Way Stretch is not just a performance, it is a preservation of culture and a bold step toward making new histories. I truly hope to see this show remounted so that more folks can experience it.
