Cards on the Table
Pull up a chair for mind-blowing close-up magic with Grindstone's Byron Martin. Trained under Spanish legend Dani DaOrtiz and a member of the Edmonton Magic Club, Byron blends slick sleight-of-hand with casual charm and quick wit. Expect surprises, expect laughs—just don’t expect to figure out how he did it.
It's weird that an actual wizard would focus his efforts on close up magic but here we are.
Prepare to never believe anything ever again.
Typically, we expect a showman of sorts when you hear card tricks. With talent honed by children and drunks, Byron is an entirely different type of performer. It's safe for the whole family and his talent is flawless. His countenance is part Mr Bean/part Nate Bargatzee and slight of hand can stand up to close scrutiny. An absolute gem!
Note- if you're not in the first 2 rows, sit in the stands. He projects the table behind him on a screen.
An Evening of Prestidigitation By: Syenne Ko
Three glowing chandeliers and a box of Bicycle cards illuminated by a single spotlight; this set the stage for Cards on the Table with Byron Martin.
With sleeves rolled up and nothing to hide, Byron Martin was very relaxed throughout the entire performance. However, this casual demeanor did not match the astonishing tricks. From a disappearing deck to finding a certain card, this magician had a deep bag of tricks. This magic left the audience in awe and curious of how the tricks were done. Alas, if you can’t figure it out, just enjoy the extraordinary experience!
