DADS

Using audience interaction, stand-up comedy, games and storytelling, DADS makes space for the sometimes complicated, sometimes hilarious, and always impactful relationships we have with the men who made us. With each show different from the next, this playful piece wrestles with whether honour and honesty can truly go hand in hand.

Saw this Sunday evening. Part story telling, part confessional, part therapy, lots of laughs and a few tears. If your family was actually perfect this may not be for you, but for everyone else, there’s something there for you!

Writer-performer Taylor Trowbridge canvasses the audience for diverse DAD memories, & relates her father's strengths & shortcomings, with candid humour & warmth—as did this show's guest star, Nikki Bon. N.B: Heed the #FringeTO content advice.

Anyone who has a complicated relationship with their father is bound to be deeply moved by Taylor Trowbridge’s new solo play, which pays homage to her dad, and explores the complexities of fathers in all their forms.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

I caught my second show of The Toronto Fringe DADS , yesterday evening. Like War Dogs, a one actor autobiographical performance, in this case Taylor Trowbridge the Creator & Solo Performer reflects on her recently passed father. Surprising upbeat, Taylor engages the audience soliciting memories of their fathers. To add additional laughter to the show Taylor has invited a rotating line-up of stand-up comics to do a 10 minute set about Dads. GO OUT AND PLAY
