Laughed So Hard I Cried

Charming, sweet, poignant 'Evie & Alfie: A Very British Love Story' at The Toronto Fringe is well worth seeing. The story of a couple's relationship over many decades. Two truer characters have never been on stage. GO OUT AND PLAY

Not My Cup of Tea

Funny YES , Well performed YES but a little bit silly. Maybe too silly ....if a FRINGE show can be too silly. If you want some laughs go and see it. Though, in my opinion, it is not the smartest funniest show of the FRINGE ....

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Yesterday I saw this very funny, very original performance Perhaps a semi-autobiographical story/musical about a young woman with a life long passion for musical theatre who never seems to catch a break. This is the type of show that the Fringe is famous for. The title is a parody on "Hot Honey Rag" a famous instrumental dance number from the musical Chicago . It was composed by John Kander, with the original iconic choreography famously created by Bob Fosse for the 1975 Broadway production GO OUT AND PLAY

Laughed So Hard I Cried

I caught my second show of The Toronto Fringe DADS , yesterday evening. Like War Dogs, a one actor autobiographical performance, in this case Taylor Trowbridge the Creator & Solo Performer reflects on her recently passed father. Surprising upbeat, Taylor engages the audience soliciting memories of their fathers. To add additional laughter to the show Taylor has invited a rotating line-up of stand-up comics to do a 10 minute set about Dads. GO OUT AND PLAY

Saw my first performance at the the 2026 The Toronto Fringe today. WAR DOG is a powerful autobiographical one man show about a man reflects that as a boy growing up in a constantly moving military family with a father who was caring but could not show love finally begins to deal with his childhood trauma well into his 60s. Superb storytelling that captivates. Numerous daily performances to July 12th. GO OUT AND PLAY
