Tall Mark's EAT IT ANYWAY
I really enjoyed Mark's ability to combine the narrative of his experience with comedy and music. He developed a show thats able to take the audience on his personal journey through both the good and the bad while reminding them that it's important to laugh no matter the circumstances.
Tall Mark felt comically real yet surreal! Super warm and hilarious energy but also down to earth with some sobering thoughts and lyrics. Love the autobiographical anecdotes and satirical commentary on modern day society. The musical variety tickled my fancy because I’d never seen a bass uke until that day #mindblown ! Thank you Tall Mark for being a bright beacon of groovy magic! It’s so refreshing to hear a comedy show that is really wholesome and doesn’t shit on anyone (other than big Pharma ;) ) ! All the best to you, I look forward to hearing more songs and comedy !
Mark’s quick wit and ability to adapt on his feet kept me laughing and had the audience immediately involved! I got the sense that each show is different based on the crowd in the room which made it exciting and encouraged me to contribute.
This level of disarming authenticity and presence paired perfectly with thought-provoking and relevant subject matter, which allowed a window into Mark’s fearless life!
Tall Mark does a wonderful job at balancing the comedy in songs and stories about struggles in the healthcare system, work/corporate structures, and more. Outside of the comedy, there is still a lot of heart in this piece, which makes it such a well-rounded performance. Go for the hundred dollar hot dog and stay for being kind to one another.
It was a great show! Mix of music, standup, and storytelling. Tall Mark , is delightful to watch, he can make you laugh so hard, then effortlessly change topics to something sad. His style of storytelling is easy to watch and enjoy.
Heck yeah Tall Mark. A good show from lights up to lights down. Engaging. Funny. Tear jerking. Thoughtful. Insightful. Do yourself a favour and go see Tall Mark's show as soon as possible.
I was having a terrible day and Tall Mark made feel feel joy. Rich and kind, funny and beautiful, this humorous human is the type of person I want to see on stage and in the world.
Funny incredibly charming show with a dash of Fred Penner for adults. Tall Mark!
Eat It Anyway is delightful. Tall Mark is a heartfelt, funny, and engaging storyteller, interweaving poignant details about his personal life with goofy (yet often equally poignant) songs to create a sense of ease and intimacy with the audience. He navigates the space between hilarity and thoughtfulness with skill, leaving us bouncing happily between "haha!" and "ahhh!" Definitely recommended. Or as Mark might say: "See It Anyway."
Warning: do not attend hungry!
Tall Mark takes the audience through a humourous musical romp as he learns to live with chronic illness. Through his journey, he comes across people from all walks of life, highlighting kindness and living life to its fullest.
The songs are both catchy and memorable. You won’t want to miss musical heavy hitters such as “$100 Hot Dog” . Mark weaves his wacky adventures into the show that will have the audience singing along and humming to themselves long after leaving the theatre.
Fantastic technical direction highlights the emotional core of the show. The use of several instruments keeps the audience on their toes and avoids monotony.
While the message may be to “eat it anyway” regarding life’s challenges, I left feeling full and satisfied. This is a show you won’t want to leave off your Fringe menu.
Tall Mark (Tall Mark) shares his life story and views on life in song form. A delightfully weird performance from a talented musician. Audience participation was fantastic. An excellent cap to our Sunday.
Original, funny, personal songs and stories with heart and whimsy. Enjoyed every minute from start to finish, singing along with the choruses and enjoying the anecdotes.
Tall Mark's show was truly heartwarming and hilarious. The show is built on his personal experiences navigating challenges that very few people have faced but he manages to make it universally relatable and very funny! His ability to make the audience feel like part of the show through song and and interactive bits will have you smiling and laughing long after you've left the theatre.
Tall Mark presents audiences with an authenticity and wit as he tells the story of his life (so far) through comedic song and slam poetry. His show is filled with quirks and goofiness, sentimentality and warmth. Though he shares from his personal experience, his story is relatable. I was literally laughing out loud during most of it, and the whole theatre was singing along by the end. This is a rare gem not to be missed!
Tall Mark's silly goose ways and earnest heartfelt comedic tunes catch in your ears, brain and heart. You will be singing along long after the show is over. It is thoughtful, well timed, cleverly engaging, and delightful. Catch Eat it Anyway while you can, I cannot recommend it enough.
Beautifully done Tall Mark ❤️
