GUMS: An Accidental Beach Prequel

When LRT bridge construction alters the flow of the river, a giant sturgeon awakens from its slumber to wreak havoc on beach goers trying to enjoy the waist deep waters of the North Saskatchewan River. It's too dangerous, but the Mayor demands the newly formed accidental beach stay open, prompting 3 unexpected heroes to action.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

An absolutely hilarious follow up to Accidental Beach. You can go into this one blind as it's a prequel, but you'll miss some of the winks and nods to fans of the original production. They've somehow managed to capture that improv energy while being able to improve on the story and music with a regular production.

Definitely one of the highlights this year, and easily the show where it seemed like everyone involved in the production was having the most fun!

"And then a giant sturgeon ate a bunch of people (and the plot).... Silly, unhinged and chaotic, and funny, with sophisticated, artfully constructed musical theatre songs. One should be our civic theme song, seriously....

This show was a total blast! It was as if National Lampoon's and all of Edmonton’s in-jokes had a very crass and ridiculous baby. I loved the songs and the whole dumb story! The cast was clearly having a great time and the songs were excellent. Watch out for giant sucking sturgeons!!

The talented team at the Grindstone have served up yet another banger of a show. You can see that the cast are having a lot of fun while they sing some (very) silly songs, and it is a blast to watch it all unfold.
