Another improv must, it wouldnāt be the Fringe without Kevin and Arlen doing Scratch! Hilarious as always, they consistently manage to create multiple stories that all tie together perfectly in the end. And donāt forget, thereās always a montage! Theyāve got a formula and it works!
This was a very fun, high energy musical about Romeo and Juliet⦠But also The Notebook? The pop music songs were a blast and there were plenty of throwbacks to the movie from the 90s. The characters were hilarious and I loved the alternate ending!
I see Jon Bennettās show every year and have been doing so for many years. I was disappointed to learn that he wasnāt able to make it this year because couldnāt leave the USA. However, the show DID go on! Instead, we were treated to Pretending Things Are a Cock-baret! Other Fringe performers told stories, sang songs, and did magic. And Jon himself even FaceTimed into the show! It was lovely but I sure missed that guy.
I take my son to this show every year because itās such a great way to expose kids to improv! The team always does such a great job of creating a fun and welcoming kid-friendly environment! We all laughed and had a great time! The green team won!!
THIS SHOW!!! It had everything! Rats, Anthony Bourdain, AND ME AS THE JUDGE! Thatās right, I was asked up on stage to play a part in the show!! This show is a sequel to last yearās Rat Academy and I think this one was even better. You canāt help but love Fingers and Shrimp! I loved the effects that were used and was completely engaged and entertained the whole time. ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OF THE FEST!
This was a stand-up comedy show and it was full of storytelling and heart. I really enjoyed the tales of his LGBTQ journey and it was fun to play a few silly games like āgay or nay.ā This show has a bunch of good laughs mixed with hard truths.
First of all, this show had an understudy. On the plus side, the role didnāt have any lines. My yoga teacher Jake was also in this show and he did great as the lovable Carole! I liked all of the characters and I thought that the story was funny and sweet. I liked how they all came together in friendship in the end. However, the BEST PART was when they all actually played the bells⦠And they nailed it!! Very impressive!
This puppet show was an unexpected delight. The show explored themes of gender identity and the main characterās journey in discovering their true self. The puppets and set were beautifully crafted. A very interesting and thought-provoking performance. (This was also the show that GORDONāS āstoleā when I saw them⦠They got a few things sorta right!)
A mesmerizing magic show! Keith wowed the audience with many magic tricks, the majority being card tricks. I certainly have no clue how any of it was done! There was plenty of audience participation and everyone left quite amazed.
This show was a total blast! It was as if National Lampoon's and all of Edmontonās in-jokes had a very crass and ridiculous baby. I loved the songs and the whole dumb story! The cast was clearly having a great time and the songs were excellent. Watch out for giant sucking sturgeons!!
