I loved Ickoholics! Lucy is super personable and funny, and the concept is so unique, relatable, and entertaining! Let's talk about the concept first. I never thought about this before, but there really is a step-by-step process that happens when you have a new romantic interest, and there's often a turning point when things may or may not get serious. Whether people realize it or not, this is an "Ick" moment because we often search for flaws in the our potential partner...essentially an "Ick". As for the show's presentation - it's super fun! I love the use of music and the visuals on the screen. One other element I loved is Lucy's storytelling. She paints such vivid scenarios. Even with just herself on stage, you can visualize everything she's talking about. She also does some great dance moves, including the worm. Way to slay, girl!

Ok, an honest review. I liked the premise, and the presentation. And I think it could have been an enjoyable show. But she speaks at 500 words a minute in an Australian accent. (Not that there is anything wrong with an Australian accent), but at this speed I couldn't understand a fkn word she said. Maybe follow Aussie's can get it, but for me, I might as well have been at an all Spanish show.

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. What a character, what a voice, what a fun show...is this what anonymous meetings are like? Sign me up!

There were a couple of pitchy moments, but, that had more to do with sound design and tech, because the show goes from no music, low mic, to full-on musical in a flash. If the mic is still low when the music is blasting, how can you hear yourself sing? Just sayin'...

Lucy is fantastic. She has an absolutely incredible voice, but what really impressed me was how beautifully she balances the music with the storytelling and comedy. The songs never overwhelm the show (and trust me I got worried for the first 30 sec of singing as I am not a fan of musicals) - they add to it, and she delivers every part of it with such confidence, charm and great comic timing. The staging is deceptively simple. Lucy is alone on stage for the entire show, and yet she manages to completely command the room. There is nowhere to hide in a one-woman show like this, and she absolutely delivers. Funny, clever, original and genuinely charming, with a performer who is clearly a triple threat.

Impressive one woman show I could certainly identify with. Very talented artist acting, singing, and strumming the guitar. Highly recommend fun story worth seeing.

The beats were concise, the jokes and bits landed so well. This was finely performed with great technical aspects.

I had no expectations for this show but I was blown away by the theatrics, the plot, the story, the performance, the music, the truth and the surprise ending. All done in an Australian accent.

Lucy was fantastic! A triple threat, humour, music and cartwheels! This was such a relatable show with great heart, really charming and so funny.

Extremely entertaining and relatable, the build up to the end was full of twists and turns you won’t expect! I love going in and not knowing I’m also going to get a funny and informative power point presentation, and coming away wanting to see the next person sharing their ick!

Funny and poignant. Driven from the reality of modern dating and GenZ cultural allusions. Recommend for anyone looking for a light, awkwardly cute shown and giggles.

What a great show! It was witty, well paced and downright laugh out loud in places. I worried that I might not understand 'the ick' but it was made so clear and relevant. There was even a PowerPoint to help! Lol! Lucy is amazing. The great dialogue was augmented by some well-timed physical comedy. Highly recommend this show and watching for more work by this great artist.

Ickoholics is a show you don’t want to miss! What a funny talented performer. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time and all preformed by one powerhouse of a lady! Definitely go see her live!

Such a funny, relatable, polished and fun show!! A must see for anyone attending the fringe. Lucy has such an engaging presence and her delivery is both natural and hilarious - you will laugh until you cry 🤣 Everything about the show was tight - the lighting, sound, props, costumes, and the hilarious PowerPoint presentation for all of those non-gen-z-ers in the audience! Oh, and did I mention she has an incredible voice? The song selections and the stories she told through her lyrics were such a delight! Go see Ickoholics Anonymous! You’ll have a ball!

Lucy’s voice is absolutely incredible this show is filled with a great mix of humour for all types of people men and woman and overall is just a good laugh. The ick is a relatable topic that everyone experiences throughout their lives and lucy has done a great job at making it such a funny and memorable show it’s very unique and original and overall a great experience. Lucy is an absolute star! She had us rolling in the aisles with her quick wit and banter. Her singing was spectacular and having great songs in the show enhanced the overall performance. Ickoholics Anonymous was hilarious, relatable and thoroughly entertaining

I had the privilege of being able to watch this show and can I just say - WOW. It’s amazing to see Lucy bring this show to Vancouver because it was such a good experience that will leave you in stitches from laughing. The premise alone of an anonymous meeting for people that get the ick is fantastic given that most people these days get the ick more than they would like to admit, it’s a bit of an issue. Lucy tackles this by going into each of the 7 stages of the ick whilst relating it back to her current romantic partner. Oh and did I forget to mention that this is a one woman show, yes one woman on stage for the whole show. And not once did I ever feel like the pacing dragged or I was bored, the whole show was captivating from start to finish! There were so many moments I could not hold in my laughter and there was definitely a moment where I REALLY got the ick (spoilers sorry) in the best way. I had a visceral reaction that left me feeling shocked … and that is just a testament to how good the writing is. The story beats are great throughout, the humour is on point, and the song numbers were delightful to listen to. Lucy really does have the voice of an angel. I would recommend this to anyone who is going to the Fringe Festival to check this out. You will have an awesome time and learn a little bit more about the ick - and how not to get it.
