New Wave Your Behaviour was an excellent, fun-filled, deeply relatable and well thought out production. It was hilarious throughout, while also touching on themes of self-confusion, shame and mental illness. As someone who experiences dissociation (and researches it), I found this production to be amazing. 100% would see again.

Oh, and the songs are available on Spotify!

I had a great time at this show! Well written, structured and performed. Very clever exploration of the musical genre. A MUST SEE if you are or have ever been a fan of New Wave music.

To me, this hidden gem is what Fringe is about — something different, intimate, smart — maybe even under appreciated. Disguised as a very fun deconstruction of 80s New Wave music, it’s about how to reconstruct oneself from trauma and dissociation, how to make one’s fractured parts into a complete whole. I found it to be uplifting and applicable to my life. This show deserves more attention and success, you won’t regret seeing it.

Grief has been talked about so many times that it can sometimes sound trite or cliche. This show comes at grief from an unconventional angle and in doing so finds a really touching, funny, and honesty way in.

I said at the beginning of the fest that I typically don’t like storytelling shows, but I guess I’m a liar bc this is yet another phenomenal storytelling show that I saw today. The actor had a very charismatic energy on stage which made it easy to buy in to the show’s concept, which is about the loss of a mother and mental illness that swirls around the concept of…new wave music? The structure was simple but executed well, and I laughed a lot while being impressed by the artist’s courage.

I honestly found it hard to believe that this was the artist’s first Fringe play, and as he told it he was new to theatre in general, because it was very solidly done. For the quality of the show, it was a shame that the house was largely empty. I would certainly see a play from this artist again and I hope they return in the future. They clearly have a unique perspective.

Really enjoyable allegorical interpretation of this man's psyche using new wave music. I laughed and wanted to get up and dance on several occasions.

A Totally Tubular Dude, Bodacious Storytelling, and Retro Music: The Show of Tor

Tor Lukasik-Foss’s New Wave Your Behaviour is a fun yet heartfelt story of uncovering himself through music. He takes you back to the beginning where he rediscovered New Wave and through the events struggling at his job, therapy sessions, car rides making you feel like you were there also while including New Wave dance and voice lessons, performing with a synthesizer and drum machine. His storytelling is engaging, keeping you engrossed in the story while also bopping your head to the awesome beats. For those on their own self discovery; want nostalgia growing up in the 1980s where New Wave was everywhere; or just wanna relax and hear a story, New Wave Your Behaviour has something for everyone to enjoy. Did I mention the tiny concerts and grand finale?
