Simply brilliant. Niki connected with the crowd so completely from the first words. Laugh out loud funny from start to finish - and in the process, kiss your stereotypes goodbye as they leave for good.

Clocking in at just under an hour, this show is the culmination of 5 years of writing, re-writing, performing, and refining jokes, stage presence, crowdwork, and storytelling, and it shows!

In that Niki Mohrdar is one of the best comedians working in Canada, there is no doubt, but this show is a testament to her singular ability to connect to an audience who may find her upbringing and background essentially alien to their own's. Niki's authenticity and vulnerability is on full display as she navigates through her experiences as a queer immigrant woman of color, sugarcoating nothing for the comfort of her predominantly western audience, and yet effortlessly keeping them on her side throughout the whole story. A true masterclass in calling in instead of calling out.

I highly recommend this show to everyone who is willing to have their notions of race, gender and culture in the middle east, challenged.
