See It Again

A very enjoyable and entertaining romp through this well-paced compendium/commentary of some of Shakespeare's greatest hits. Loved Maraya Franca's delightful and winsome take on Juliet!

Well, they had good source material. An amalgam of a biography of Shakespeare, Shakespeare’s times, scenes from Shakespeare’s plays, universal themes and some great songs presented by a tight band and five young actor/singers whose talent exploded off the stage like a fireball.

This is a talented cast: 5 persons represent some 30+ Shakespearean characters in brief scenes from myriad Bard plays, and to add to that: They sing some original songs (beautiful ballads and folk and rock music). There are hilarious moments and some very inventive 'stuff'! Challenging material rather masterfully handled. Kudos!

What a treat! I knew this was going to be a good one just listening to the talented cast and musicians warming up while we were waiting to be let up to the rooftop tent performance space. They pulled off an ambitious survey of Shakespeare's plays and a variety of styles of music with talent and energy to spare. It was fast paced, with funny shout outs to local people and places in true Shakespearean style and some great songs too. Loved this one! *The funniest moment was Juliet first having to get louder and louder to contend with the obnoxious motorcycles revving in the street below, then getting to deliver the line about hearing "some noises within." Shakespeare for the win!
