R Paul Kerston
What a delightfully whimsical romp through both familiar and unfamiliar territory: Without giving away anything, I can say that home renovations and permits are certainly fertile ground for fun; family dynamics, too. Where the 'wrench' comes in... well, ya gotta go see that! Kudos to some fine character acting; a interestingly-woven dynamic of text and songs; some nice voices and comedic work; plus dynamic use of simple props (along with incredible timing for their appearances and disappearances!); fun music, too - and a nice cameo from someone in the background!
Full disclosure: I was part of an earlier iteration that had no movement or staging or props, so this was a wonderful development that I'm really glad I got the chance to see!
This is a talented cast: 5 persons represent some 30+ Shakespearean characters in brief scenes from myriad Bard plays, and to add to that: They sing some original songs (beautiful ballads and folk and rock music). There are hilarious moments and some very inventive 'stuff'! Challenging material rather masterfully handled. Kudos!
