Wrenched: The Renovation Musical

The Young’s ”perfect” marriage collapses when a rotten mailbox triggers a disastrous renovation. While navigating nosey neighbours, a shifty contractor, and their son’s infatuation with a young labourer, the greatest threat is a sobering secret buried in the basement.

See It Again

Singlehanded proof that I should see more live theatre! This show was a lot of fun. The music was great and literally brought to life by having the accompanist (and composer?) right on stage. I read several reviews ahead of time lauding the toilet scene....and it did not disappoint. Good singing all around but the villain's bass perfectly cemented his low character.

Fun, fun, fun!!! Exactly what you want in a Fringe Festival play. Great flow and timing. Wonderful music. Timely concept so it speaks to local audiences. Kudos to everyone. The last scene is hilarious. I won't give it away but it wraps up nicely at the end. Love the mean developer/ contractor...sneaky fun. Great singing by everyone and the unsung hero is the composer playing the entire score beautifully for a solid hour on stage!

See It Again

What a delightfully whimsical romp through both familiar and unfamiliar territory: Without giving away anything, I can say that home renovations and permits are certainly fertile ground for fun; family dynamics, too. Where the 'wrench' comes in... well, ya gotta go see that! Kudos to some fine character acting; a interestingly-woven dynamic of text and songs; some nice voices and comedic work; plus dynamic use of simple props (along with incredible timing for their appearances and disappearances!); fun music, too - and a nice cameo from someone in the background!

Full disclosure: I was part of an earlier iteration that had no movement or staging or props, so this was a wonderful development that I'm really glad I got the chance to see!

See It Again

I always lament that I don't get to see Fringe Festival offerings because they are outside of my schedule of being in the city but not this year so I went to see a few! Wrenched: the renovation musical was a GREAT choice as I love musicals and this one was funny to boot! The characters are instantly relatable especially in this city and the toilet scene is hilarious. Really good staging in a bare bones production that IS the Fringe. Great voices on ALL the cast with some delicious low notes from the contractor who you want to "boo" for being so good at being bad! The music is delightful and well written and it was a fun ride the whole show! I could take my kids AND my Dad and they would all get a kick out of it!

Ten-tickles My Fancy

This musical was fast-paced and funny- made my day! I especially enjoyed the interplay between the lead actors, with the husband so keen on doing things right, for his wife’s sake. Kudos to the cast on their great voices. The twists and turns in the plot kept things rolling to a satisfying ending.

Wrenched is a laugh-out-loud musical about renovation chaos, brought to life by a brilliant cast. The lead is instantly lovable, the contractor you love to hate, and yes—I never knew toilets could be so funny!

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Wrenched was an absolute delight! From start to finish, it delivered nonstop laughs and clever writing. The lyrics were sharp, witty, and brilliantly timed — easily some of the funniest I’ve heard in a musical. The humor never felt forced, and the cast brought so much energy to the stage that it was impossible not to get swept up in the fun.

One highlight that had the whole audience in stitches was the infamous toilet scene — I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! Moments like that are what make Wrenched such a memorable experience.

Overall, this show is a must-see. Whether you’re a musical theater fan or just looking for a night of pure comedy, Wrenched delivers big. I’d recommend it to absolutely anyone who wants an evening full of laughter and joy
