The Fetus Show

The Fetus Show is an absurd, comedic exploration of birth, our baggage, and the grand cosmic joke of the interwovenness of it all.

Firstly, the costume was hilarious, which drew me to the show in the first place. The structure was pretty straightforward and moved through some sad and some funny stories. There were several gags that really tickled me, but the quality tended to waver through the middle. I noticed that the artist stumbled over the start of their lines several times, and would repeat the same line a few times as if to remember which line came next. We’re near the end of the fest and they’ve presumably run a few performances already, so that was pretty surprising. The audience participation was kind of lacklustre; there were maybe 15 people and most of them were not keen on participating, but it meant an already awkward scene become longer. I’d like to see a version of this that’s 45 minutes with a livelier and larger audience.

Ten-tickles My Fancy

This is exactly the kind of show I'm looking for every year at Fringe. It doesn't get any whackier than this, while still being absolutely clear and concise with its storytelling. The performance was great, I was engaged the entire time and, the midst of the absurdity of it all, this fetus and her placenta managed to tug at my heartstrings.

Ten-tickles My Fancy

The kind of bizarre, madcap absurdism Fringe is made for. A terrific concept, wildly executed, and anchored by a truly charming performer.

Splash Zone Survivor

It is exactly as advertised. It had us laughing, participating and cringing. Can you get golden milk from a man? We learned you can't.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Jessica had us laughing and almost crying as she played different characters. Includes some great audience interaction. I would see it again.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

I don't think I have laughed as hard as I did while watching this one-person show in a long time. If I had baseball Coach Steve teaching me sex ed in school, it would have been far more entertaining. This show taught everything from how our bodies work to facing real-world struggles, even if we don't want to. This out-of-the-ordinary comedy is one I don't think I can ever forget.
