Splash Zone Survivor

I found this show was quirky and fun. It's kind of like SIX meets Shrek meets Spelling Bee meets Hamilton but without the rap, mixed in with some Veggie Tales. Each number has lots of notable moments. My personal favorite performer was Katrina Martinez, her voice took hold of the room and filled the space, she was a stand out for sure. All the performers were great but she was phenomenal, rising star right there. Some points during the show, it was hard to hear the backing tracks but wasn't a deal breaker. The show itself is silly, it tries to be historical but I felt it needing more mature comedy moments. For example, the scene with the French villain, he needed to be flamboyant, almost upping it to play the stereotype of a crazy French man. At points, i found myself enjoying the stories and others I felt like I was watching a kid's show with confusing storylines. I loved the fishing rod and the horse sequences.

Music and vocal wise, no notes. Strong singers and storytellers. Maybe more buttons at the end of the songs to tell that, yes this song is done then blackout. Costumes and set were great too. Choreography was cute.

Overall, the show needed to play to it's strengths of being overly silly but not ridiculous, once they find that medium it'll be amazing. It was still a really good experience and I had a good time with the show. Congrats to the cast and crew.
