Kristi Boulton
I loved this show. Joanna is a POWERHOUSE performer.
Joanna embodies the character of "Nikki", a hair-stylist who has heard (and seen!) it all. Recounting the most ridiculous, delightful, heartfelt stories of her most intriguing clients, we are taken on a whirlwind tour de farce of believable, ridiculous and real characters that all make you laugh and feel in equal measure.
Blending comedy, heart and charm, this show covers all the bases you could possibly ask for in your favourite Fringe shows.
The run is completely sold out (for good reason!) but if you're lucky, you might be able to snag a spot when they release a couple extra tickets just before the show.
Catch it if you can! You won't regret it!
Hey! Hey you! Yeah, you, reading this.
See this show.
I say again. See. This. Show.
I don't want to spoil it, but I will say that this was one of the best Fringe productions I've ever seen. Moving, compelling, haunting, hilarious, heartfelt, horrifying... It's truly a work of genius and art.
The performances are all out of the world, the creativity is stellar, and you will leave feeling like you've been taken on the most wild of rides.
Trust me. Go see this show. It's a must see in an already stacked festival.
My heart did not know what it was walking into when I sat down for the opening night of Evie and Alfie.
As a long-time fan of both Jimmy Hogg and Alex Dallas, I was prepared to laugh and experience their comedic genius, but what I wasn't expecting was the deep emotional impact of the story and the performances.
Watching Evie and Alfie play out their lives together, from first meeting to first date and all the other firsts in-between that happen when you're growing old together, the duo makes it easy to fall in love with the characters. And as you learn more about them, slip-ups, misdeeds and all, you love them both more for it.
The real winner though is the subtle nuances of both Hogg and Dallas's performances, which add another layer of genuine emotional connection and depth to an already stellar show.
I cannot recommend this show enough. It should be added to your "must-see" list!💛
Have you ever felt lost? Ever felt like you'd never find love or the better half you've been seeking? Have you ever wondered how a parent might react to a secret you've been too afraid to reveal?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you'll find something to love and empathize with in "Time of my Life" by Antonio Olivito.
Antonio has lovingly cultivated heartfelt stories from his life that span from youth to adulthood, sharing vulnerable moments of joy and loss, heartache and self-discovery, and will have you feeling all the feels by the end.
Antonio's energy carries you throughout the production and weaves tales that make your heart ache and puns that make you belly laugh in equal measure.
If you're looking for an authentic, deeply vulnerable and genuinely lovely show, look no further than "Time of My Life" and catch it while you can at The Yardbird!
