ChihSang’s journey is a must-see: a touching, funny and entertaining one! He takes us with him as he travels back to his roots in Trinidad and through his migrations to the US and Canada, unafraid to show his vulnerability as he struggles to find his authentic identity amid pressures to conform and fit in. Humour and playfulness (and yes, bubbles!) add a light touch to his story, even as it makes us shed a tear or two of empathy. [Some technical issues occurred during the performance (the premiere!), glitches I am sure have been worked out since. As there was no mic, a couple of lines were inaudible, indicating that the performer needs to project his voice a bit more.] Whatever your background, you will surely relate to ChihSang’s journey back to joy and wonder, a deeply human one.
