Heathers The Musical: Teen Edition was an enjoyable nod to the original Heathers story/lore. I took my sister with me and we both really enjoyed the show and felt it was nostalgic to the story we knew as teenagers growing up.
This group of young performers is bursting at the seams with talent that we undoubtedly experience again in the future of Edmonton's theatre and art scene. No relying on set pieces and props, using pretty much only handheld items and lighting, it was up to those on stage to set the scene and transport the audience into their world, and they did not disappoint. We loved the gender bending and can adaptability of the cast in taking on additional roles. Overall, a huge showcase of talent for this group. They should be very, very proud of the work on this project.
A special mention for Heather in red and Veronica, lots of lines, lots of songs. Didn't miss a beat. Incredible job. Finger snaps!
Gamble takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions as we learn together that hes the last man standing in his nearly famed circus troupe 🎪. I brought my two boys to see the show and they were engaged and captivated for the entire performance! The theme of working with what you've got, pivoting on the spot and believing in yourself seemed to really stay with them after the show. Gamble engaged with the audience and had a fantastic knack for crowd work, which they loved! Great show! Highly recommend!
