Not My Cup of Tea

Limited by its venue and seating, which made it hard to see a lot of the action on stage, particularly since a lot happened on the floor or low to the ground. If you're past the first few rows of seats, the sightlines won't be great.

That being said - as always - Scona Alumni Theatre Co. put on a strong performance, especially vocally. Jayden Leung was incredible as the titular Bat Boy, and Jordan Melnyk as Meredith was a standout.

I went in knowing nothing about the show except the Fringe hype surrounding it, and I expected the show to lean into the camp and absurdity that the title suggests. For much of its runtime, it does.

And then, in the final act, there were some unexpectedly dark themes that weren't reflected in the content warnings. I won't spoil things in my review, but if you're someone who appreciates having more detailed content warnings before deciding to attend a show - I'd recommend looking up some more info about this musical.
