Public Universal Friend is a fascinating historical figure, and I was really excited to see that there was a show about the Friend at Fringe this year.

This is an ambitious and compelling piece, especially if you're a fan of abstract theater, but I came away thinking I wished I'd learned more about the Friend through it.

The live soundscape is a really neat idea, but I found that it was too loud and interfered with the dialogue at times.
