RIGHT PLACE, WRONG MAN: Another Grant Canyon Mystery
GRANT CANYON IS BACK! The long-awaited sequel to No Tweed Too Tight is finally here.
Canyon is a perpetually drunk insurance investigator who can only stay conscious long enough to rack up empty bottles, satisfied ladies and dead bodies. Boozy, bloody, bruised, and brilliant.
What do you get when you have a solo act that provides a one hour Austin Powers-esque film noir pastiche, inside a church auditorium? Well, you get your quintessential Fringe show.
Mr Canyon is a solid character, and the show is decently paced with excellent direction and production. A packed house on a weekend evening. This is a clear example of a "typical good Fringe experience".
Having not seen the first installment of Grant Canyon, I wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into with this one at first, but oh my god, what a fabulous ride this turned out to be!
It was so funny, the pacing was great, and the sound effects and lighting absolutely absolutely made the show.
This was one of the best one person shows I've seen at the Fringe, and I hope it's not another years long wait for another episode of Grant Canyon!

If The Naked Gun, every Bond movie, and Mission Impossible had a baby together, it would be RIGHT PLACE, WRONG MAN: Another Grant Canyon Mystery. RIGHT PLACE, WRONG MAN follows the life of an Insurance Investigator who finds himself in a constant loop of dangerous situations that lead to tomfoolery, amazing one liners, and plot twists that’ll make you clutch your pearls. Ryan Gladstone plays the role of Grant Canyon, and takes on the incredible challenge of how to master a one man show. Every moment of comedic timing was performed perfectly and any moment of silence in the audience was quickly filled with laughter, gasps, or asking the question “what just happened?!” Grant Canyon comes with his own theme song and a splendid lighting design that accentuates all of the hilarious narrated moments in the show. The set was simplistic, but helped propel the story further by making Canyon the main focus as he combats his foes with his jaw dropping mime fight scenes in this late 70’s period piece. Every entrance into a joke was well timed and well met. There wasn’t a single dull moment in the entire show, and you could see how much Ryan enjoyed putting on this show and playing the beloved buffoon, Grant Canyon. If you’re looking for a knee-slapping level of a hilarious show, come see RIGHT PLACE, WRONG MAN: Another Grant Canyon Mystery and enjoy the ride of mischief and clownery!

One of the best one-man shows I’ve seen at the Fringe in years! This show is amazing!
The a really well done! This show will have your head will explode like a ketchup packet under a car tire! I love the narration, sound effects were amazing, and the inside jokes inside the story were awesome! He does an extremely great job narrating the Canyon’s internal thoughts and bringing the whole story to life.
At first it makes sense, then you’re completely lost, and then it makes complete sense again! It’s not just a straightforward mystery. It has you laughing every moment you’re guessing what just happened, and it all comes together in such a witty and really funny way.
10/10! If I could have my memory erased I would absolutely see again!
Grant Canyon (Ryan Gladstone) is back after a not-so-short hiatus, bigger, badder, and more turpentine-drunk than ever. In this action-packed caper, you'll see him throw punches, receive even more punches, pose nude, and even fight a shark.
RIGHT PLACE, WRONG MAN may be a one-man show, but Gladstone is a master storyteller, constantly morphing into a cast of colorful characters, from Russian mobsters to snooty British art collectors, and keeping the audience guessing which accent he'll pull out next.
Although this show is packed with hysterical one-liners and similes that would make Leslie Nielsen proud, I dare say that a few small technical glitches actually amplified the hilarity. For instance, Gladstone playfully pointed out a couple of delayed effects by weaving them into each scene like a pro, leaving the audience in stitches.
If the first show was any indication, future audiences are in for a real treat. Run, don't walk - your life might depend on it.
