Hannah Ockenden & Jim Leard have created a character that I want to see more of. Ramona Dale is the type of protagonist that brings you into her world of murder, mayhem, mystery as an ally. Here is a story that must be told, that must be shared, and needs an audience.

The pacing, the physicality, the minimal set all worked to keep me on the edge of my seat. How will this end?!? No spoiler alert here.

There’s one show left. Sunday, Sept 20th at 5:35pm. Go if you can. You can thank me later.

The actress played the role really well. It is a solo play in which she plays different characters and expresses herself very clearly.

It is an interesting story that makes you think and takes you back to Italy in the 1920s. I think it was a challenging role, and the actress was able to portray all the different characters exceptionally well.

Delightful, charming and memorable. The actor tells a gripping tale with very few (if any) props that made me forget where I was. I was transported back in time to that Piazza in Italy. Very well done!

Go see this! Its well worth the extra few steps off of Granville Island.

Wow, had no expectations, or knowledge of what the show was about when I came in, but I'm glad I did. She is an incredibly captivating storyteller, and I was hooked within minutes.

Hannah Ockenden deserves high praise for her performance in The Lady in the Fountain: A Ramona Dale Story. She is a tremendous storyteller with a natural, fluid command of the stage, whether serving as narrator or bringing the various characters to life. Her descriptive ability helps paint vivid scenes for the audience, and her stage presence feels confident, engaging, and effortless. She is, by far, one of the best and most natural performers I have seen at the Fringe this year. I highly recommend this performance.

The theme is all about a photo, an image. Hanna's performance exemplifes how a performer can create so many vivid images with only her voice, expressions and movements. We were caught up in the moment with the heroine, villain and cast of characters - amazing for a solo performance. Bravo!

Hannah has an amazing show on her hands, and one that had my attention from start to finish. With little else that a costume and a bench, she transported us into 1920s Italy through the eyes of romantic adventurer Ramona Dale. A very classic adventure that wouldn't be too out of place in a black and white film, Hannah was able to make me vividly imagine every character and every detail of this world. It took me until the end to realize that there wasn't even any music!

This was a tremendous success, and a look forward to seeing what other adventures Remona find's herself in in the future!

The Lady In The Fountain has (accurately) been described as Sapphic Tintin, a fantastical story woven from a single photograph. Ockenden owns the stage for the entire runtime, moving between characters, settings, and antics effortlessly, all on her own. Had a wonderful time!

A fantastic journey from start to finish! As a one woman show, Hannah captivates and embodies various characters and brings the scenes to life. A show about women living boldly, being defiant in the face of danger, embracing the sapphic, and finding cousins in unexpected places!

A tour de force by Hannah Ockenden in this one woman play about an independent-minded young woman in 1920s Italy. I was captured from the moment the story began. Hannah moves easily between characters, making each one different and believable. I loved her charming charming Italian accent. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.
