The commitment to the bit was crazy, and O'Brien exudes such a comforting energy. What the show had to say feels radical even today. I left wishing Plan V was real.

Absolutely amazing show! This show was so incredible in so many was. The characterization, the human but also what a clever way to bring up such important issues without being preachy!

With great energy and humor, even if it might at times be a little over the top,Eleanor O’Brian presents important but always light hearted information on love and sex that is invaluable in these seemingly retrograde times

And even though the information is important the tone of the piece is always extremely entertaining

See It Again

I loved this show so much, I'm coming to see it again while it's still in Van! And I had to take a damn ferry! This show was NOT what I was expecting. I don't know what I was expecting. But I know it was deeply moving to have my sexuality embraced, celebrated and shouted about!!! The fact that this show takes place in 2035 makes it.... believable. And a bit scary to think about as a possibility. As I got to know the narrator, I went from thinking she was too caricaturish to appreciating her all too common journey and felt so much love and compassion for her. THIS SHOW IS FUNNY. It is JOYFUL. Oh, do we need big doses of joy these days and Plan V tells us to open wide (pun intended) and receive. There is only one caveat. There were several places in this show where it touched the depths of the pain in my soul and I felt a deep need to sob. But a show at the fringe is not the place. So the tears flowed freely down my face as I hooted and laughed and literally did kegels with the entire audience. Eleanor, this is such a beautiful piece of work. Thank you for sharing it because we really, really need it. Blessings to the Almighty Pussy.

The two sections of Plan V are so distinct they might as well be different scripts. The shorter one works.

In the longer, opening section of her solo show, Eleanor O’Brien takes on the persona of Mama V, a pink-track-suited proselytizer in the revolutionary Pussy Power movement of 2035. Mama V preaches that female sexual empowerment is the ultimate act of resistance to fascism.

I’m all for pussy power and I’m all for Mama V’s lessons, including “Embrace pleasure. Endure nothing.” But O’Brien hollers her way through this material, her polemic leaves little room for sustained narrative, and the video sections, in which Mama V welcomes guests (all played by O’Brien) go on too long and they’re hard to hear.

Then, belatedly, Mama V asks her protégé, Eleanor (played by O’Brien in the flesh, with a costume change), to deliver a testimonial. With nuance, detail, humour, and warmth, Eleanor shares the story of her journey from shame about her genitals to a full celebration of their ecstatic, erotic, spiritual power.

I could have done with more vulnerable, fully explored stories and a lot less of Mama V. Yes, that would be more like The Vagina Monologues, but there would be zero shame in that.

Laughed So Hard I Cried

Plan V is like that unexpected twist in a rom-com that leaves you laughing and a bit confused, but ultimately glad you watched it. The artist behind this show has the kind of talent that makes you wonder if they have a direct line to the universe’s humor department. Each section is a delightful rollercoaster, taking you from fits of giggles to contemplative moments faster than you can say “what just happened?” If laughter is the best medicine, then Plan V is the prescription you didn’t know you needed.

This show has everything. From beautiful pussy reverence, to great character development, the best southern drawl, and the worst Scottish accent, every minute is a delight from start to finish. I laughed, I cried, and I even learned some things along the way. I love Eleanor's energy, and she manages to not just put in a top tier performance, but also welcome you like you're an old friend. It's not just a show. It's a movement towards community, inner peace, and pure unadulterated joy. Ding!

Just the best show! I laughed, I cried (no I didn't...) but you get the gist. I was completely mind blown by how much I was carried into the premise of the show. I want to make it a real thing at this point. It is also on a theatrical level a real "tour de force"as a one-woman show. All the characters are believable and so endearing. And so many things about it are so catchy, spot on and liberatingly, empoweringly funny! On a more serious side, I do believe that what this show offers is exactly what we need in the current political climate, south of the border and beyond. I absolutely recommend!

Plan V, More Like “I Plan To See It Again”

I would definitely be attending all of the next Plan V meetings because I could safely say that I was a whole different person before seeing this show. I laughed so hard, felt a wave of revolutionary energy, and felt sad at some point.

Eleanor O’Brien wowed the crowd with her amazing use of accents and impersonations (not to spoil anything, but she played more than one character, and I couldn’t tell until after!). Plan V is a very interesting and bizarre way of executing theatre as it talks about prominent issues that surround sexual-related discourse and empowering men and women while still being hilarious, as it is set in 2035 (when fascism has taken over the world) as a top secret seminar meeting.

Definitely, I could say that this show is truly Fringe-coded. If you want to be part of a revolution, definitely rush to see this show as it is showing at venue 34: The Faculty Events Centre until August 24th. “Pussy power activate!”

Laughed So Hard I Cried

I learned today the Journal gave this show 2/5 stars. I don't think I've ever heard something so absurd in my life. Shame on them.

This is an energetic hour about female-led empowered human sexuality, set in the near-dystopian future. Its funny, sweet, touching, and sexy. There is some nudity. It did not strike me as gratuitous. Nor did the show seem shouty. It was just some warm fuzzy sexy good times.

It fills a class of show I feel are the "perfect" fringe experiences. A little raw, a lot off the wall, and thoroughly entertaining.

4.5 stars as the concept was very arch and one needs to give it a little benefit of the doubt to work. But to be honest it was in the closing 10 minutes that I realized it was a one woman show, it was that impressively choreographed (yes, it will be completely obvious to all that it was a one woman show)

Mind Blown

If you’re a misogynistic dude who’s scared of messages of powerful feminism then this isn’t going to be a show for you. Eleanor O’Brien tells a story of a plausible near future dystopia where secret “Plan V” meetings work to promote pleasure with an emphasis, of course, on female pleasure. Some men will wonder why a show about pleasure doesn’t revolve around them, other men will learn that pleasure starts with the mind.

This is not my first Eleanor O'Brian show, but she has outdone herself this time. She has created a show that is hilarious, yet sends a message of healing and empowerment for both women and men. She also utilizes technology to extend her talents to play other characters, truly a one woman show. Keep sharing the message Eleanor, and keep the world laughing. The positivity is contagious.

Sexy Fringe Show

Eleanor O'Brien has created an empowering show for ALL women & Feminist Men and Fabulous Thems. In true form to her lifelong mission of sex positivity in a world that often silences womens joys and pleasures. Eleanor is a talented comic actor and always is with ease in front of her full house on opening nite. Her marketing and P@ssy Wagon and amazing tech (my Nate) add to the overall vibe for Plan V. I laughed a lot. Eleanor's passion is infectous from start to finish. I am very happy for and proud of her success. The importance of her homage and gratitude of the great Eve Ansler and the #metoo movement stands out strong cushioned between her many characters and hilarity. Eleanor has found how to mix fun, sexy and necessary empowerment for women and make sex positivity and art form all itself! -Beth Marshall Beth & Josie Exposed -Former OFringe Producer /CAFF VP -Co-Founder US Fringe Association

I have come to look for Elanor O'Brien's name at Fringe every year because I always know that whatever she creates will be energetic, honest, funny and authentic. Plan V is my FAVOURITE of her shows to date! When she preached the POWER of the PUSSY I nearly jumped out of my seat and shouted "AMEN"! This show does away with shame about pleasure for the female body and it does it in a way that made me laugh and cry and get shivers up and down my spine. LOVED! Would see again! Plan V brings pussy reverence to the stage with an orgasmic wit in this one womb-man show that will amaze you with its juicy wit and exuberant characters. Eleanor O’Brien transforms into Mama V, a preacher of female pleasure as a means of revolution in a future fascist world in 2035, and her masterful performance is both educational and comedic, vulnerable and reverent. It is nothing short of amazing- Ding!
